So, I'm definitely going to the Lenox Mall Apple store location to get my white 32gb 5s. but I have a couple questions, I guess for anyone who has attended launches at this location before.

I called the Apple store there, and asked the guy how the launches there work, since, given that it's in a mall, and the mall closes, you can't camp out outside the store. He said the Lenox Mall doesn't permit camping on their property. SO I'm wondering how people go about this? Do they simply get there early that day and hope to get lucky? Or do they all meet at one place and begin forming a line preemptively? Furthermore, how early would you recommend getting there?

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

I dont know where you live, but im camping up north in cumming at the att corp store, its MUCH easier to grab one there. Lenox is NUTS!!! att lets you sit out front all night since its private property.

    Lining up at Lenox

I've been at Lenox a few times for iPhone launches. Any time before... 6 I think? People line up on the sidewalk on Lenox road outside the mall (across from the ATT store) and are pretty good about self-policing the line. Then at 6 or 7 or whenever, someone comes down from mall security and tells everyone that they can head up to the line outside the mall, which is on the top floor of the parking deck. There they have ropes for the lines. Apple sends out some of the more gregarious workers to talk to folks outside. There's usually someone going up and down the lines with free coffee and water - sometimes Chick Fil A will be there with food as well. Usually at least one Daring Fireball t-shirt :D

Then usually 15-30 minutes before they go on sale, they bring everyone into the mall, again escorted by security, and wrap the line around the upstairs floor leading up to the Apple store. Once they store opens, it all moves pretty quickly. Last year I got to the mall around... 5:30 maybe? I wasn't in the first 50 people, maybe not in the first 100. They started selling the iPhones at 8, and I was out of the store with my phone by 8:20.

I've gotten every single iPhone on the day of release. The first time I was in Macon, but the rest have been Atlanta. The two times I went to the ATT store(both times on Cumberland Pkwy), I was there all day, and one of those times I had to select a different phone bc they ran out of the one I wanted. Every time I've been to Lenox, it's been super fast, no activation problems (remember that??), and I've gotten the phone I wanted, and I've never gotten there earlier than 5am. I think people think it's NUTS because they see photos of it, and the lines, especially when wrapped around the mall, are impressive looking. But as someone who actually goes to Lenox each year, it's been great. Obviously, I can't speak to Cumming, because I've never been there. But I've never waited all night anywhere. YMMV wherever you are; just sharing that for what it's worth.
