Thankfully I managed to reserve one for collection between 8am-9am on Friday, so am not planning on getting there crazy early (for once). In previous years I pop down around 5:30am and have always been lucky, but am aiming for 7:30am on Friday - just want to enjoy a bit of the atmosphere (but at a more reasonable hour) :apple:

I'll be there 5 ish, not sure which size i want, so wanna try 'em first. Best Parking I guess would be on street parking? It's free all day by the common so maybe there?

That's a good idea... I probably should have tried them first but.. you know. In for a penny, in for a pound!

I normally park at leisure world but apparently there's new parking restrictions. Any suggestions on where's cheap/available to park?

The multi-story for West Quay opens at 5:30am

That might be a decent bet?

According to Twitter, there are already about 40 people queueing at the Apple Store, so if you have not pre-ordered/reserved, head on down as early as possible (especially if you want the 6 Plus!)

We got to the store at 11.30 and are about number 50 in the queue. It goes past Halifax now, probably over 100. There are huge groups of quite young Chinese people at the front that know each other and are playing football together, moving back and forth up the line and grouping together. Do you think these are scalpers?

    Bad news :(

I always fancy heading down on iPhone launch day to see what's going on. My bed is just too warm.

Well that was painless - stroll into West Quay at 7:55am, walk out at 8:45am with a shiny iPhone 6 :) The queue was the biggest I have ever seen, all the way round to John Lewis.

Had a feel of the iPhone 6 Plus whilst in the queue - have to say that whilst a hefty phone, it did not feel as big as I thought it would. Happy with my 6 tho!

Enjoy your phones if you are lucky to pick one up!

    Hi,

Does anyone know if Southampton have any 6 handsets left at all? Traveling from Bournemouth tomorrow, just wondered if anyone knew of stock at all?

    Cheers
