Just wondering about the future of the iPhone 6 plus as far as software updates are concerned. There's always something Apple leaves out of the "lesser" iPhones when new software comes out. The only reason I say "lesser" in this instance is because the 6 is priced less than the 6 plus. They have the same guts other than OIS, but it seems like Apple will have a way to keep the 6 just a little less appealing than the plus.

Well starting with the screen resolution and size there will always be Apps that run like a tablet in the 6+.

Actually you can't say "there is always something Apple leaves out" in this case because we've never had this situation before.

There has always been just one new model of the iPhone, and then the older models that they price drop. There is no precedent in this case for two new iPhone models in the same year.

But if you extrapolate from the iPad Air/iPad Mini, Apple strives to ultimately put almost exactly the same hardware in the two models.

Maybe there will be software differences for the "phablet" category, but even the software between the iPad and iPhone is really similar, and those have even bigger differences in screen size.

People would be irate if they added multi window to a 6S+ and not the 6+.
People would be irate, too, if it gets added to the 6+ but not the 6. Besides, it's something they can excuse as being hardware not good enough (RAM). Now that I think about it, they might even make it a 6S+ exclusive (higher res than 6S and more RAM than 6+?). 🙄

I just know it's going to have more ram too. Ugh. They might even go crazy with it who knows? It's a 64 bit processor after all they could have 4+ gb. Sony already has a 6.2 inch phablet monstrosity announced with a 64 bit chip and 4 gigs of ram slated for a first quarter 2015 launch I believe.
