Does anyone know of clear backed cases?
Either as a slim bumper or a case with a TPU/ glass back?

I’ve always used a Spigen Ultra Hybrid, but the TPU back “sticks” to the iPhone 8 glass. It looks very unsightly, but trying to find an alternative :)

I just got one of these today, When I first put it on it was stuck to the glass and looked bad so I took it off and wiped the back glass and inside the case with a microfibre properly.

When I put it back on I put the left side in first then snapped the right side in and it fits fine now no sticking to the glass.

    Confirm this works.
What this does is introduce fine particles of dust/lint that will make a separation layer preventing the case from direct contact and thus stop the "wetting" effect.
You will see there are some cases out there with a clear back that intentionally have raised dots that keep the clear back away from the glass.
    Example

^^^This re: raised backs. Two current case below have this.

I have a love/hate for clear TPU cases. Had one on my iPhone 6 Space Gray. After about four months, it started to yellow on the back of the case, right where the CPU was located. And with the silvery gray back, the yellow showed. Maybe not really noticable, but was bugging me. Eventually replaced it with what was supposed to be a black frosted case, but was more a smoke color, imo (Luvvitt?) Looked good, kept it: worked well and thin.

Guessing the silver 8 might be prone to showing any yellowing.

I have had Luvvitt, Spigen, others. All worked well. Only one that I did not like was a hard plastic case that started to crack on the corners (ip 4S). Never will do hard plastic again.

I had bought a Spigen Slim clear for the 8. Clear, not overly thick, but has decent sized bumpers on the side. Adds a decent amount of protection without any bulk. Complaint: gives the phone a retro 3G look. A bit distracting, imo, the way it shines. As the plastic ages and is used, might dull, so might be a short term distraction.

That said, bought a barely there clear TPU case at Fry's today. Some no name company made it. Like the look of it much better (less shiny TPU on the sides), and feels so much closer to like the way the phone feels when you pull it out of the box and put it into your hands. With a blackish gray back on this years SG, hoping any potential yellowing will not show.

I have this one for my 8+ and it looks good to me. Used them on my other iPhones including the iPhone 7 and I’ve never had a problem with sticking, or dirt. Spigen Ultra Hybrid

I use the Supcase Unicorn Beetle with a clear back. Looks awesome on the silver 8+.

Thank you. The microfibre works, will give it a few days to see if the stickiness comes back.

I use the Spigen liquid crystal case with my 8 plus and I’m quite happy with it. It has a clear back, and it’s slightly textured, so it won’t stick to the back glass.

Here is a pic with the case on the 8 Plus, and another close up pic hoping to show the texture on the inside of the case.

One more thing I’ll mention, I used the same case for my 7 Plus jet black with great result as well. The case doesn’t ‘stick’ to the back of the phone.
