Updated my 7+ to 11.0.1, overall okay, battery isn't that great, but what bugs me is that the phone gets warm underneath the camera after some fair bit of usage. Anybody else having the same?

Had a call with Apple, they did diagnostics on it, all good there, phone is a few days old baby, further asked to reinstall iOS11, did that and still the same, have an appointment with GB this coming Thursday.

Will do definitely. Is yours warm as well just below the camera? It does cool down eventually when I dont use the phone. Can't really make out if it is iOS11 that is a problem since I updated my iPhone to iOS11 the minute I took it out of the box.

Yes, same issue, and it only started when I installed ios 11. This didn't happen with ios 10.

Wow, that is a relief atleast, thought I got a faulty unit. Can you elaborate on what others symptoms you see when the phone warms up?
One hell of a beast this phone is, love the camera, using it after using an SE for a couple of years give or take.

I really don't see any other symptoms. Battery life isn't as good in ios 11. I had an issue the other day where it seems like iclould photo library was somehow turned off and then turned on, as the phone was re-downloading my photo library. I don't know how or why this happened as I wasn't even in settings to turn it off.

Ah okay, so nothing else. I did a phone call just now and the phone heated up like crazy. iOS is really messing this up.

I believe the CPU/GPU is right under the camera, along that side. It always gets hot there when the phone is under heavy usage, been like that since my iPhone 5.

You could install iOS 10 to compare if it's not too much hassle.

This happened when I was briefly on iOS11 and 11.0.1. I have since reverted to 10.3.3 and all is well.

Well, that is what I gathered after reading a few articles.

Can't be arsed really. It is a long procedure to do all that.

So we know for a fact that iOS 11 is the culprit here, hope they fix it soon.

People have had issues of this type with iOS 10 and other version as well. It can be something with the installation or something else, not necessarily something specific to iOS 11.

Small update for you guys: I switched off my location services totally, iPhone has been pretty cool since then. Will monitor for a few hours and update. You guys can try this if you want. Also reset my location and privacy settings.

I would just like to add that my 7 128 has been doing the exact same thing (suddenly warming under the camera) for many developer betas. I’m currently on the GM release and I haven’t updated to 10.0.1, yet I have this issue.

It seems to be a random problem that starts and stops on its own, and it eats away my battery. Rebooting seems to fix the problem, but I hate doing that.

I will try disabling location services and report back.

Well, my phone seems to have settled down after resetting the location settings. Doesn't heat up like crazy like before, but I can feel it a bit warm on heavy usage, which I think is normal.
