Apple's next-generation iPhone 7 Plus may feature a 256GB storage option and larger 3,100 mAh battery as two differentiating features over the smaller iPhone 7, according to Chinese website MyDrivers [Google Translate].

The report does not specify if the iPhone 7 Plus will still have 16GB base storage, or if Apple will opt for larger storage options such as 32GB, 128GB and 256GB, compared to the iPhone 6s Plus lineup of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB models.

The claimed 3,100 mAh battery would be approximately 12.7% larger than the iPhone 6s Plus's 2,750 mAh battery, but the rumor is questionable following reports claiming the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be nearly as thin as the new iPod touch.

The report also corroborates previous rumors claiming the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will retain 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes respectively, but does not offer any other new details about the smartphones.

Chinese website MyDrivers, which earlier this week said the so-called "iPhone 6c" will have a 1,642 mAh battery and 2GB of RAM, has a mixed track record at reporting on Apple's upcoming product plans, so this rumor should be treated with caution until or unless other reports substantiate these claims.

Apple may remove the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in favor of an all-in-one Lightning connector, possibly helping the smartphones achieve between 6.0mm and 6.5mm thinness and a waterproof design. The devices may also have a faster TSMC-built A10 chip and Intel 7360 LTE modem and non-metallic casing with hidden antenna bands. iPhone 7 Plus models could have 3GB of RAM.

16GB iPhone 6 = $649
64GB iPhone 6 = $749

16GB model outsells the 64GB 5:1

2016...

16GB model = $649
64GB model = $749
128GB model = $849
256GB model = $949 or high estimate $1049

Which one do you think will sell the most? 16GB! Because people see $100 cheaper > any memory size more.

Apple will never ditch 16GB. It's like their Honda civic model of iPhone.

I want:

• iPhone 7 & 7 Plus with same size screen but smaller bezels making the phone smaller.
• Fast Charging and Wireless Charging
• Better battery life

Do that and I'll be pumped and buy it day one.

( oh and just to give the to everyone, give us 64GB, 128GB and 256GB options. Won't happen since it would hurt the profit margins but still haha, one can dream.)

The iPhone 7 could be the best phone on the market in 2016. But I still wont buy it if it doesn't include a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, regardless whether or not the lightning port can give higher quality audio.
They could make an headphone jack/lightning port combo. Just have a bulge on one side.

iPhone 7 will definitely come with 16GB of storage and 2GB ram. Don't keep your hopes up. Apple increases RAM every 4-5 years, so I don't expect they will increase it again this year.

Que?

For reference, here's storage configurations as they originally launched:

Code:
Year Min Storage Max Storage RAM
iPhone 2007 4 8 128 MB
iPhone 3G 2008 8 16 128 MB
iPhone 3GS 2009 16 32 256 MB
iPhone 4 2010 16 32 512 MB
iPhone 4S 2011 16 64 512 MB
iPhone 5 2012 16 64 1 GB
iPhone 5S 2013 16 64 1 GB
iPhone 6 2014 16 128 1 GB
iPhone 6S 2015 16 128 2 GB

So, RAM doubles every 2-3 years (not 4-5), an increase of the minimum storage is overdue, and an increase of the maximum storage is at least plausible.

Upgrades were a lot better (faster) BEFORE Tim took over. He sees the world with these eyes $_$

Also make the double tap that shrinks the screen down, also shrink the screen vertically.

There's a jailbreak tweak called "OneHandWizard" that does this - and quite elegantly. It also lets you resize just how small you want the screen to go... the default (on my iPhone 6 Plus) is to scale the screen down to 4" - iPhone 5 size.

It cost me $3.99, but was money well spent.
