Steve Jobs will be rolling in his grave.

Apple had the chance to redefine the landscape of its range on the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, but instead they're sticking to their 'screw as much money as we can from our customers' philosophy and sticking with what is now an incredibly dated design (the front - not the back/body which IS stunning). The front, now, just looks plasticy and more like a cheap toy.

At the very least they should have adopted an edge-to-edge display - which has been available on other phones for a while now.

With regards to the iPhone X - it's just overpriced, AND WHERE IS 128GB!? 64 is too small and 256 just not needed by most.

I'm pretty sure that the X has a better screen to body ratio than most other phones.
Meaning it's more edge to edge than the rest. But I guess you'd rather have had less screen and a full bezel at the top.

The best part about the Iphone 8 is that it reduced the outright prices of the Iphone 7 and 7+ here in Canada by $160!

Here in the UK the iPhone 7 (and 7+) have gone down..... wait for it.... just £50!!!!

LMAO! They really do like to take the P don't they.

The iPhone 8 and 8+ are £30 and £50 more expensive than last year's prices (256GB).

I think the question you have to ask is, is the iPhone 8 better than the iPhone 7, and the answer is yes.
It's got:

- Fast Charging
- A11 Processor
- Neural Processor
- More 4K recording modes
- TouchID <- this shouldnt even be a thing, but it is given that X doesn't have it

it is really not all bad...

Yeah, it's almost to the level of iPad mini 2 vs 3 in being a 'no brainier' to go for the 7. Meaningful changes are thin on the ground, the price makes 64gb entry storage somehow seem stingy, the plus model is unreasonably heavy... I like the glass back design, I was set to get an 8+ if it retailed for around the same £819 price as the 7+ for 128gb, but not paying £949 for 256 and not willing to drop down to 64 either.

Fast charging isn't really a big deal. I use an Aker charger and it's faster than the iPhone chargers. Also, that's not really an upgrade. Besides, most everyone I know simply chargers their iPhone at night. Speed isn't really that large of an issue.

The processor doesn't mean much in actual use. A function taking .0001 seconds faster will not be noticed.

Not many people make 4k videos due to the lack of 4k monitors.

On a technical level, the 8 has several improvements to the 7 and new features. On a practical level, it's not that much more fundamentally better than the 7.

Much like Win8

Curse of the 8’s

As someone who was anxiously awaiting the X but still very interested in having TouchID, I think the 8 is a good alternative to upgrade to. The 8 Plus is $200 less expensive than the X too.

It's 82.9% and the Note 8 is 83% so no it doesn't and many hands-on people at the event didn't expect the bezels on the left and right to be as thick as the normal iPhone 8.

Does the 8 have portrait mode and portrait lighting or is that just the X? I thought they said both in the presentation but the comparison table says otherwise.

Go to Apple's site and do a iPhone 7 Plus versus a 8 Plus.

https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

The ONLY real difference is the 8 Plus has wireless charging. That's it. What a joke. Almost every single line item on the list for both devices are the same.
Your eyes are broken. The 8 has the A11 proc, True Tone Display, higher storage capacity, the neural engine, the m11 proc, etc etc.
