They need to rethink doing another one.

I thought it would sell well too, but people are prioritizing value over luxury these days (understandably).

I'm actually glad Apple just added it to the lineup instead of making this the only iPhone 17.
Yeah that would be their total next fail, the iphone 17 exceeds expectations (as predicted) so cancelling it to force to pro would backfire
You mean rational people are unwilling to compromise features and battery life to have the "thinnest iPhone ever (except where it isn't)"?

Outrageous.
Yeah as predicted, maybe a bundle with the Vision Pro could fix it? AVP1 with the Air for free?

i dont understand why Apple didnt implement the same Plateau they put in the pro Model so we have all 3 cameras. By doing so itll justify the pricing they want, and it'll still keep the same thinness they measure at since they use the smallest point, and we wudnt have so much cutdown features.

But lets be serious, the stock gets ATHs, so who are we to give any advice :D

Yes the Iphone Air is bad, yes the Vision Pro is a complete overpriced item (in that regatd already a little outdated), yes the 256gb storage on Macs is ridiculous, yes Siri is a little bit disappointing with its failed Apple Intelligence but besides that, the rest just seems to work

It really shows you how completely out of touch the Air lovers were on MacRumors.

If you believed them, Air was selling 30-50% of all new iPhones and everyone loved it. If someone touched it in-store, they would fall in love, just like a Hollywood movie.

All those emo threads created by Air users really shows the echo chambers that can exist and distort reality.

Makes sense when there's only about 16% of people who wants to try things or think in a way that isn't what they are used to.

It took many years to get people to pay more for larger and heavier phones phones rather than smaller and lighter ones which was the common thing before in premium devices. You don't change trajectory in a single year.

Isn’t that the iPhone 17 that’s a tad thicker due to the stereo speakers and camera.
I know people talk about the iPhone 17 being only 2.35mm thicker, but when you get down to that thickness, that really is a big difference. You don’t appreciate until you hold it in your hands. I was wowed at the Apple Store, but not enough by the features to by it. I definitely would though if they could squeeze those improvements in.

What happened to innovation? Look at the variety of implementations of the iPod concept ... why can't some innovation be brought to the iPhone? The current offerings are so boring. For example, what about an iPhone version of the iPod Shuffle? !!! (Think about it carefully ... make you think about future UIs?)

What I wouldn't give for an up to date 2025 iPod classic at this point. I hate that the phone has become the single "everything" device. I've been an iPhone user since gen 1, but I've really grown tired of it being all things to all people. I've actually bought several upgraded/modded iPods off eBay over the years and use it for music often now. I never got into streaming, I have such a large music collection going back to original MP3s from the 90s all cataloged in iTunes, always ripped my music, so having my whole library with me on a fat iPod is still peak to me. I don't care if it was double the price today, a new iPad classic with USB-C and OLED screen would be amazing.

That is too bad. I own one and amazed every-time I pick it up how much better it compares to my old 16 Pro or the 17 Pro I tried. When I had both the Air and the 17 Pro, I reached for the Air every-time, as it felt so much better and the screen seemed so much better being larger. Definitely more upsides to it than downsides for me.

Battery life is just as good as my 16 Pro was and I never use speaker, as have Airpods, so could care less about that.
Same here.

It's junk and a seriously bad idea to neuter the battery and cripple the camera but charge a premium for glueing an external battery to it. I mean, did ya thunk about it??? At ALL.

The amount of piling on almost immediately of this thread is telling..
I think you guys think air owners care at all? Meanwhile we are all just smiling..
Future classic for sure now!! lol!!
Nothing gets this kind of reaction unless they really hit a nerve.. I’m almost certain of a serious inferiority complex emerging among the appleites. Lol

"Sometimes life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith,"

By these words, Steve jobs didn’t mean that Apple should keep on looting faithful customers by bringing more overpriced niche products.

Apple seems to finally be getting a clue.

During the Jony Ive years, people were shouting from the rooftops that they would rather have 4 hours more battery life on their MacBook Pro than it be as thin and light as possible. But Ive was all about thin-and-light-for-the-sake-of-thin-and-light and didn't give a damn about the users of their products.

Hopefully the iPhone Air is the last nail in that coffin. Sure, thin is great, but to make it durable, you have to make the frame out of titanium, and you lose battery capacity. So you have a product that costs a premium, is almost as heavy as an iPhone 17, and gets worse battery life.

What's the benefit of "thin"?
