I might be a bit slow, but I've noticed a huge trend across Apple product lines:

Macs
Everyday: iMac
Power: Mac Pro
Compact & utility: Mac mini

Macbooks
Everyday: Macbook
Power: Mac Pro
Compact & utility: Macbook Air

iPads
Everyday: iPad
Power: iPad Pro
Compact & utility: iPad Mini

Now, for iPhones:
Everyday: iPhone
Power: iPhone Plus
Compact & utility: ???

Apple clearly will be introducing a smaller iPhone. Before you ask, the iPod touch doesn't count as it's not a phone. Does thie theory make sense?

The Pro and mini and nano and Air have existed for some time and none have gotten applied to the iPhone in all the years. Even when a larger one was introduced they went with a whole new thing calling it Plus. So while anything is certainly possible, and perhaps it might seem something has more of a chance of happening at some point, it doesn't really seem that anything is really clear or a given simply based on names of other products.

It's been an active 'trend' for quite some time. ;)

'Books
Everyday: iBook G3/G4
Power: PowerBook G3/G4
Compact & utility: 12" iBook G4 and 12" PowerBook G4

But then I think you were meaning stuff after 2006, huh? :D
