My iPhone on wifi it is a 4s barely last 5-6 hours on wifi why does apple say 8 hours.
I am guessing it's a "nominal" 8 hours. It all depends how you spent your usage I guess? I have been known to get around 7 hours and 45 min with general usage...
Yeah, a lot of it depends on what you're doing, while on that wifi. It's an up to time, not guaranteed.
Companies test the battery in a factory environment where everything is controlled. In the real world there are many other factors; for example if you have a weak signal that keeps dropping out.
Yeah I was looking at videos and browsing websites and thinking I'm not gonna make it to 8 hours and I was right.
Was the phone in airplane mode? It would need to be if you want 8 hours on wifi.
Lol very true I made it to 6 so I'm happy but the 8 hours is clearly a lie.
It's not a lie, I explained why it's rated at 8 hours in my post above.
Its not a lie...
Battery life decreases as you use it more and it depends on what you do.
Okay it's not but there are so many factors that control battery life outside of a controlled area.
Your usage was heavier then their test usage hence the lower battery life.
I've been extensively using my 4S on 3G for the last couple of days, can't say I'm disappointed with the battery.
I agree I have been on my phones wifi 6 hours today just testing it out while I'm off work.
Yep that's why on the iPhone specs page on the apple website it has a little "5" next to "power and battery" and when you scroll down to the bottom of the page and read point 5, it says:
"All battery claims depend on network configuration and many other factors; actual results will vary. Battery has limited recharge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced by Apple service provider. Battery life and charge cycles vary by use and settings. See www.apple.com/batteries and www.apple.com/iphone/battery.html for more information."
I get about 9 hours on WiFi... (no SIM card).
Wow what are your settings.
Yup, it's a lie. It doesn't make any difference what functions and apps are turned on. I doesn't matter what you do with the phone. It doesn't matter if it's just on standby, or in constant use.
Non of that matters. It's a lie!!!
Sue the bastards!!!
Airplane mode, wifi on, just tapatalk, web, and music.
I basically bought this iphone 4s to use as a giant iPod touch, lol (with a more powerful A5, more RAM, and a bigger battery).
Everything is dependent on your use. Apple (just like ANY manufacturer) tests products in the best possible environment/conditions.
8 hours is what you CAN get, not what you always will get.
I get 7h - 7h 30m on wifi browsing
