Pretty much can't make calls because the audio is coming out of the headphone jack even there are no headphones in the jack because the phone still thinks they are in there. Please help

try all of those methods first... i had a faulty iphone 3G that did the exact same thing. I took it back to the Apple Store and had it replaced.

I have an original iPhone and never had this happen. Since upgrading to 2.0 software, it has happened a few times. VERY annoying!

I had the same issue with my original iPhone. Turns out there was just some crud in there that had to be loosened up. I basically blew in there real hard and violently pushed and pulled the headphone jack multiple times and that fixed it.

By the way, how is there audio coming out of the headphone jack when nothing is plugged in? Seems impossible...

Had this problem once. I bascially blew into the headphone jack.

I then kept on plugging in the headphones and taking them out and somehow it fixed the problem.

Hope it works for you too.

Good luck!

I had this problem once about a month ago. I just reset my iPhone and that cleared it right up. Haven't seen it again.
