Very interesting given the seller’s 100% rating from over 20,000 users.

I bought a 64 gig SE from eBay about 5 months ago but I wanted a backup with more storage. The 64 gig phone was through a different seller and I had no trouble with it.

Now I’m in paranoid mode hoping I don’t get ripped off on the current situation. Keeping close eye on my accounts to make sure no charges go through.

Looks like this AllDayZip merchant has been a target of fraud before...

    https://www.reddit.com/r/iphone/comments/8ux1qc/has_anyone_bought_an_iphone_from_alldayzip/

I just got my shipping notice and tracking number. So fingers crossed my SE gets here. I’m also eyeing all of my accounts just to be safe.

EDIT: Keep in mind that fraud surrounding a specific merchant may have more to do with buyers running scams than the merchant itself. I remember in the early 2000s I got a call from the Denver PD about eBay scams that were being run off my WiFi (before I knew about good WiFi security). Apparently, some one was parking outside my place and buying electronics on eBay with stolen credit cards using my WiFi connection. I doubt that had anything to do with a specific seller, just the people running the scams. In this case, where you have one seller who focuses specifically on high end electronics, he will certainly be a target of scammers. If AllDayZip was a real scammer, eBay would have shut him down long ago. I'm really not worried.

So you think someone hacked the seller and was doing double charges on my purchase attempt? It’s crazy to me that it happened on multiple credit cards.

Not to freak you out even more, but eBay merchants have no control over the charging process. The amount charged is based on the price listed on the item. Once the purchase enters “checkout” the transaction is out of the seller’s hands and the purchase is strictly controlled by eBay and/or PayPal. If you were getting double charged, you need to contact them. Not the merchant.

So eBay getting hacked. That’s the last time I attempt to buy anything through them.

Glad Chase caught the issue and blocked the charges. Purchase attempt with Wells Fargo card also did not go through, but Wells did not say there were multiple charge attempts.

So far this morning I don’t see any temporary authorizations for the 3 cards, so hopefully everything is OK.

Honestly... Just sounds like a random glitch to me. eBay doesn’t screw around with that stuff.

I just checked all of my accounts...

On the debit card from my checking account that blocked the charge, no strange or odd transactions appear.

On my United Airlines Chase VISA, I only see the single $334 charge via PayPal.

    Seems legit so far...

Remember, the merchant will never see/get your credit card or banking info. In my case the transaction was handled solely by PayPal, which is incredibly secure.

Yeah I talked to Chase this morning about both of my cards with them and they confirmed no charges, plus the cards are clear for me to use again in daily routine.

Wells Fargo told me last night that the temporary authorization of $0 was just eBay connecting to the card. That temp authorization is gone today.

Hopefully everything is fine now and just gonna keep a close eye on all 3 accounts. Would be nice if Apple.com brings back some more clearance SE’s at some point.

Also... FWIW, it's possible you may have accidentally done the double charge yourself during checkout.

When my debit card was blocked, it showed a weird error on eBay checkout. It didn't say "declined," it just said, "we could not process your order at this time," so I tried to complete the checkout again (seconds apart). My bank's fraud department pointed out the "double charge" attempt when they called me, but it wasn't really a double charge, it was just me clicking "complete order" twice after my bank blocked the first attempt. And I informed them of that.

After the second failed attempt I switched to the Chase Visa, which ran through fine.

I didn't click it twice. In fact that's why I tried two more times with different cards because I wondered if I did something wrong the first time. I was very careful with the 2nd and 3rd attempts on the other cards and it was the same result.

That's very bizarre. I would definitely keep an eye on that.

Tracking updated with Monday delivery. I guess we’ll know soon if this is legit or not.

The present rumours around IOS13 offer nothing compelling at all for a device with SE's screen size and packaging. How much pent up demand for updated emoji's are you predicting?

You're probably fine. Seems the seller has a lot of positive reviews from buyers.

Odd. That’s only $10 more than Apple was selling them for. How little could he have gotten them for, to sell them for this price with free shipping?

Here’s the other thing, if he purchased these on clearance from someplace, then they might not be eligible for Apple Pay, as the 60 day clock would have started ticking from the purchase date.

Another thought: if someone has a 16, 32 or 64GB space gray case, is there any reason they couldn’t just swap the internal mechanisms from a rose gold 128GB into it? Obviously not from a warranty perspective, but from a practical one, it shouldn’t make a difference for those who want a different color for their daily use phone.

And when you factor in that Apple adds on sales tax based on delivery zip code, and was also tacking on $7 shipping for the clearance SEs, he’d actually be selling these at a loss (if he paid full price). I can’t figure it out.

Got my iPhoneSE today from AllDayZip on eBay. Box was sealed and new. Phone was untouched and IMEI on phone matched IMEI on box.

Here is the report on the AllDayZip serial number...

For comparison purposes, here is the serial number report from the SE I bought new at an Apple store in 2017...

    Here are the unpack pics...

Also checked the serial # with Apple Care and got this...

Heading out to dinner... will activate it and run the Coconut Battery check when I get back. But all looks legit!!

    Blah! Missed again!

I don't even need a backup phone, I just want to add to Apples analytics about SE demand so we get an SE2.
