my iPhone XS on 12.1 still has a charging issue it always works when plugged in however sometimes when I plug it overnight it will only charge for a few minutes then stop charging. It is very unpredictable. should I switch phones because I still have the return period or should I just get a XR or the old X

Is it normal though or am I doing someone wrong when charging ? Do people still have this issue or is it a hardware one?
The charging problem was software related and was supposedly fixed in an update (I believe). I can’t imagine what you could be doing wrong. Your only job is to plug it in. :)

If it’s towards the top end of charging then it might trickle charge and if it’s nothing like that then you should get it replaced. Especially given it’s within the return period.

It usually works just two nights I left it plugged in checked to see if it was charging and then when I woke up I check and it hasn’t charged at all. I checked the battery app and it says it charged for like ten minutes then stopped which makes no sense because it was plugged in

Is the Cable and charging brick fine?! Tried with any other device? Possible lint inside the port?!

I ruled out lint earlier because it’s a new device so couldn’t have gathered as much lint to stop charging but you never know. No harm in checking.

If you're having problems like this with a new device, I imagine it should be easy to get it exchanged for another one.
