And if you wear thicker gloves, the home button on the 7 and 8 doesn’t work at all.Are you just the other user Oplix using a different username... If you wear gloves, TouchID doesn't work either for the most part.
Yeah if you are wearing a mask delete your face ID and use that for the evening then delete it next dayI don’t see the problem. It’s not like you only have one time to activate Face ID and that’s that. You can reset it as many times as you like. So if your going to a fancy dress and Face ID doesn’t recognise you, can’t you reset it? Can’t you set Face ID for your costume? Set it back the next day?
FaceID also doesn’t work if you are wearing a mask. What a complete fail. So disappointed that Apple didn’t think of its mask wearing customer base!!!11
What are you talking about? It looked to perform exactly as it should. It worked when his face was recognizable and didn’t when it wasn’t. I subjectivity “agreed” with all of the instances that it did and did not unlock for him. This is one of those things that might not be an everyday thing but Face ID seems to be failing with immediate change of look. All those fancy dress party goers are not going to like it.
Scott from cnet has tried out a few different looks in this review -

A balance must always be struck between security and convenience, and FaceID seems to be striking it well thus far.
So many attempts to "dog out" face ID.
From what I have read it will be as dependable as finger ID if not more.
It seems like it only failed when he deliberately disguised himself. Worked fine with haircuts, various changes to facial hair, glasses, and sunglasses.

FaceID won’t work if you’re wearing a mask, just like how touchID won’t work if you’re wearing a glove. Kinda expected I’d say.

Some people seem to have found it to be an inconvenience and slower than Touch ID.
It is what it is and they will adapt.
Life is full of inconveniences. I am betting they will adjust.
Wait, where in the video does it show that "fancy dress party makeup" will prevent it from working? Does he put on makeup that prevented FaceID from working? Or do you mean like a Masquerade Ball type of "makeup". Should be understandable why wearing a fake nose and moustache wouldn't work.
Yes definitely. People are reluctant to change once they get used to convenience.

From how I see the X selling, people are NOT so reluctant to change.
I’ve actually not posted this as a problem. I just posted because loads of people go to fancy dress parties on Halloween. It’s a light hearted joke.
