So a 16 hour day would mean approx 16% additional battery lost to AOD, probably less as no one would have brightness set to max...

Not too bad a battery penalty all things considered. And in normal usage it’ll drain battery even less as the screen will turn off in pockets and won’t be as bright as in this test.

Same here i'm keeping mine off unless Apple fix it with a black wallpaper. i know i can do it myself but i rather not do all that just for a feature that Apple can't implement well.

I turned AOD off yesterday to test and the battery drain doesn’t seem noticeably better. I’ll keep it on today and test more.

I think battery drain is off right now- hopefully better post iOS 16.1
