iphoto 2 does not recognize itunes

I put a music track on an iphoto 2.0 album using the slideshow option. When I recently tried to activate the slideshow, I got the message "itunes 3.0 not found". Previously iphoto and itunes worked well together. Why are they no longer friends? What can I do to get the music playing again?

Why are you still using iTunes 3?
Try upgrading to iTunes 4.2

I have the iTunes 4.2 upgrade. However the pop up says "iTunes 3.0 not found"
