iPod ipod battery appears dead but not charging!!!PLZ HELP!

ipod battery appears dead but not charging. im am very knowledgeable when it comes to this but i am stumped!

i never have dropped it so the story is i paused it put it in my pocket and about 45 minutes later it ascted like its battery was dead...i figured ok well it could possibly have not charged to long the night before.

i have tried a wall charger, usb and Fw on my imac...

the ipod is in perfect condition and i do not know what is wrong.

nothing appears on the screen and hold is not on.

i have the same problem with my mini ipod, plug it into computer doesnt recognise/charge, plug it into the wall charger doesnt charge, i am yet to try a different cable. are you using the same cable plugging it into the computer as you are into the mains??? swap the cable and see if it works

It doesn't sound good, but humour me and leave it plugged into the Mac through Firewire (not USB) overnight and if possible, use a different Firewire port from the one you've already tried.

its just shuts down hard....you have to hold the reset buttons to start it agan....
