iPod iPod classic case.

Hi. I plan on getting a black ipod classic. I was wondering if the eVo3 case gives the ipod some impact resistance or if i should get something else. In a wheel chair so worried i might forget about it in my lap and drop it like i do my cell phone.

I read that the scroll wheel on the new classics won't work through the material on this case. I haven't been able to confirm this though, so if anyone can, please speak up.

Contour have announced (with zero pictures mind, but its going to look like the 5G) Showcase for the classic - something will be available in a month, and that's the only case for me. Every single full sized iPod I've owned has had a showcase, and my new classic will be no different - they're great cases...

The Contour Showcases are pretty good and don't add too much bulk. Worth looking at the iClear from Griffin too, they are good quality. http://www.griffintechnology.com

Thank you! Torn between the Contour Showcase (or Showcase Contour-- whatever it is...) and the iSkin eVo3. The Griffin iClear, while less expensive, looks like just a plastic thing. Want more shock absorbancy. Any recommendations or both really good?

I had an eVo3 for a 5G iPod, but got rid of it as it made the iPod look a lot more bulky, even if it didn't actually add that much bulk. Plus dusty silicon is a pain in the ass

The showcase really doesn't add that much bulk (like DavoMrMac days) especially as more recent iPod models have been size specific - back in the 3G/4G days it was "one size fits all" and for the thinner models it did add a lot of bulk. But the Showcase I had for my old 30GB 5G iPod fitted great with no unnecessary bulk, looks great and has quick access to the iPod... unlike the eVo3.

The iClear does look good, but you're on the same wavelength as me... I'd take the added protection the Showcase offers.
