ipod games

[me hate windows]

I got the 1.3 update for my old ipod. Why the heck can I not play the new games, or create playlists on it, or use the text viewer thingamajig? I then restored it but they still dont appear. Is this a feature of the new ipods only? I dont see why it wouldnt work on the old ones. And i cant change the interface which it says you can on Apple's site.!!!!!!!! ARGH
