iPod touch iPod Touch 1G Stuck on Restore

Been trying for hours and I can't seem to restore this iPod Touch 1G (brothers), I tried both official and modified firmwares and I usually get an error 2006 without it being in DFU restore mode (sometimes with it in), when I can finally get it to restore (did so about 3 times), the progress bar on the iPod and iTunes gets stuck at 95% or more. I tried twice with a custom 3.1.3 and once with an official 3.1.3, both had the same effect. Anyway to fix this or what?
