I used to have the ipod touh 16gb 1st generation. This would charge on any ipod speakers when in use.
I have recently upgraded to ipod touch 32gb 2nd generation and it will only charge when linked to my pc. It doesnt charge from my ipod speakers, so when playing gradually runs down and i have to recharge on my computer which is annoying.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any way I can enable it to charge from speakers not attached to my pc? as the old 1st generation ipod did? Any tips appreciated

Many chargers/docks existing prior to the 2g Touch are not compatible.

This compatibility issue is caused by changes with the Apple Dock Connecter. Inside the iPod / iPhone Dock Connecter are 30 metal pins. Previous iPods and iPhones allowed for charging either over pins reserved for the Firewire connection or the pins reserved for USB connection. As the 2g Touch uses the USB pins for charging chargers\docks that utilize the Firewire pins became obsolete.
