iPod touch Ipod touch time resets

I have a 3rd generation iPod touch that I purchased a little over 2 months ago. Over the last couple days, I've noticed almost every time I turn it on the time zone is resetting to Washington DC and the time is resetting to 4 hours behind. I can't figure out what's on. Please help.
