iPod touch iPod Touch won't turn on

Hi, my friend's iPod Touch suddenly wouldn't turn on after the battery died, and it won't charge when I plug it into computer/wall. I'm not sure whats going on but this has happened to me before on my old iPod Touch but I just returned it for a new one. It is also jailbroken, if I can't fix it can I still do a full restore so he'll be able to return it?

Try turning it in. What they will do is try to turn it on themselves, which will result in either of these two outcomes:

1) They get it working and hand it back to you.

2) They can't turn it on themselves, and they hand you a brand new one.

Try holding the power/home buttons until it turns on.
