Is America truly a nation of xenophobes, bigots, racists, and misogynist (did I miss any?)
EDIT: Yes I did: "Homophobe" ty tunerX

Yes, there are plenty who voice acceptance, tolerance, love, and all, but look around:
    • Attacks against blacks and Hispanics
    • Escalating threats against Jewish groups and desecration on graves
    • Calls for action against Islamic groups.
    • General anti-immigration sentiment.
    • Objection to any no-tariff trade policy (that is understandable if ones job went outside US)

I agree Trump is the catalyst and pointed out here, but I do not think Trump is the cause. These feeling always existed but was suppressed by a social expectation.
Now that "PC" is a bad word and Trump spews 3ed grade rants all time, the dam has broken and all that pent up angst is rushing out that breach.

    Thoughts?

    EDIT (3/6/17):
2 transgender women killed in New Orleans hours apart, 7 in 2 months.
    Just pointing out.

    Homophobe... you missed homophobe.

You need to include hate for taking a whizz standing up or sitting down.

If you base your opinion on a single incidents covered on multiple news stations over and over, it seems like it is the norm.

Liberal need to label everyone that threatens their agenda:rolleyes:

Just because I don't want people to come to the US in violation of the immigration laws, passed by Congress. Nor do I want people to come here if their intent is to cause harm to people and property, doesn't make me a "xenophobes, bigots, or a racists"

Just because I don't want someone swinging their schlong in front of my granddaughter, doesn't make me a "Homophobe".

I'm sick and tired of liberal, holier than tho attitudes, stop labeling everyone with ligament positions, that are opposed to you with these stupid labels:p

You summed it up pretty well, but keep in mind what you are essentially asking is for people to admit and understand they are a racist or a xenophobe, etc. They don't think they are, they are unable to look within, but are very capable of voting en masse.

Many of us know the answer to your question, but many of us don't, and will criticize you in return. I am disappointed at the direction this country is taking. I am not a fan of the populist. This last election really shined a light on those around me who I did not know were in one of the categories you listed. As latent as it may be, there is a lot of hate out there.

Its a country with 300 million+ people. We have all kinds here.

These labels you came up with make it seem like there are many various different attitudes - homophobes, xenophobes, bigots, etc. Really, all this stuff is the same thing. It's tribal behavior. Each person can belong to multiple tribes - natural born citizens vs. naturalized citizens vs. legal aliens vs. illegal aliens. Tribal people might see themselves as being part of the natural born citizens + naturalized citizens tribe. Everyone else is an adversary.

At the same time, one might see themselves as belonging to the caucasian tribe. In this case, they may speak/act out against non-caucasians as those people are adversaries.

Conservative right Christians tend to align themselves with fellow protestants. Everyone else (Catholics, Muslims, agnostics, atheists, etc.) are all adversaries.

It's all tribal behavior expressing themselves in different ways. In fact, you will see these fierce tribal people to be the most vocal of their political party preference. For example, conservatives that think everyone who is not a conservative is a socialist/communist/marxist/fascist evil person. In this case, the other tribe they belong to is their political party.

The only thing here that is not tribal behavior is the mysoginy.

After saying all that, my point is that tribal behavior is not unique in the U.S. It just expresses itself in different ways here than it does in other countries.

I am happy in the direction this country is going. As a first generation citizen who is also a POC I have had immense opportunities.

It is most certainly a nation where 46% of the people ended up voting for the guy who had chants of "Trump that bitch!" and "Build that wall!" as a central feature of his campaign events. The guy who boasted about grabbing women by the p***y, and walking in on naked teenage pageant contestant.

On that basis alone, I think more than a few of you have some splainin' to do.

No. I don't think the country is a nation of those things. I think what we have, is a lot of scared fearful people. Afraid of change, and afraid of anything different. Which is strange when you consider that the United States is a melting pot of people and cultures from around the world. You would think that whole fear thing would have faded away a long time ago. But instead it has seemed to only magnify to the point where we have elected the most fearful and paranoid of all as leader. It's rather bizarre.

What the hell kind of restrooms is your family using? I've been using restrooms for five decades and have yet to see that even once.

Why? Because you don't think he could win against someone else?

Well, well. Someone here gets it. Perfectly stated. Left wing lunatics will call you every name in the book if you don't completely embrace their open borders, man on boy love, anything goes, illegals can stay here even if they are criminals, anyone can enter the country at will, shoving gay and tranny stuff down your throat agenda.

And they wonder why we aren't so thrilled with their plans? The truth is that most people in this country are pretty reasonable but that's NOT good enough for the crazies. Nope, you can't use logic or be even remotely fair. You have to swallow the left "pill" completely or you start getting labeled. Wonderful. Great bunch of people.

I'm going to point out the irony again of complaining about being labelled and then referring to those doing it with several labels lol.

'Don't label me you crazies, the left, gay lovers, liberals, left wingers'.... Oops

    My granddaughter is 3, dude.

You've yet to see a man's penis in a restroom, I highly doubt that.

    I'm very sorry JK.

But that is just fundamentally wrong. (It's also, for about the millionth time, more of your tiresome deflection.)

What makes Hillary Clinton "despicable"? Using a private e-mail server? Ill-considered, sure. But not, in any meaningful sense of the word, "despicable." Being Secretary of State when a tragic attack on US diplomats took place? Goes with the territory. Was Reagan "despicable" when terrorists blew up 300 Marines in Beirut?

Please, please, please stop with your deflecting.

Wow, maybe you should come to terms with your gayness. Straight guys aren't peaking at another guys' penis.
