i noticed that each app that gets overhauled no longer uses thin and filled version of menu bar icons. Some of the newer apps that do this are News, Music, App Store, Photos, and Podcasts.

On the other hand, Files and TV use the outline style, but those all use existing icons that we’ve seen before.

I think it’s weird for them not to worry about this because it was said in a developer conference that it was to help people with color blindness differentiate button states with shape instead of color. It’s not like it would take long for them to make an outlined version for the new app. It’s just weird because I thought of this technique as one of the biggest achievements of ios7.
