is Apple creating an app store for MacOS too?

I read this in a thread today and I was wondering if there was any truth to this.

I doubt it. How would they get developers to sign up? They can sell their applications right now without Apple checking the app meet some restrictions, without waiting for approval, without getting removed from the store without warning etc. I just don't see why they'd bother!

Yeah - I can't see them implementing this into iTunes or anything else.

I certainly hope not - the last thing the Mac needs is Apple trying to control what software can be installed on it
