I would say yes, but perhaps wait until Monday to see how others are faring before making the jump if you’re feeling extra cautious.

I have iPadOS 16 since the first public beta in July, from the beginning it was very stable, with Stage Manager being more laggy. But it got better over the months and I would be very comfortable to recommend installing it tomorrow. But of course, you can decide to wait a few days to see if there are any major issues

I just bought an Air 5th gen (M1) a few days ago I and was wondering the same thing about iPadOS16. Some of the features look great but as I just got the Air I don't feel like updating if it will slow it down or make it laggy.

And is it 16.0 we are getting on Monday or 16.1?

Wonder what time it will be released, hopefully during working hours so I can install and set it up on my personal device during working hours.

It’s about time that the Os of the iPad and the iPhone match. I hope the launch of this Os goes with out issues and that everyone that can updates successfully.

Anecdotally, the final release install of iPadOS 16.1 has broken my iPad.

Specs: 12.9 / M1 / 2TB / was in the magic keyboard case when I first updated.

I’m in a boot loop and have no diagnostic information available - I won’t say it’s bricked because I assume I can DFU mode restore it (which I don’t want to do unless I have no options) but I’ve tried the hardware reboot sequence multiple times which doesn’t fix the problem. Just waiting for it to die on the battery now which is taking forever.

I haven’t seen other reports of this but I also don’t know if many people have the max configuration - if you do I suggest maybe waiting a week. I updated from the last public beta.

Actually quite happy with iPadOS 16, and stage manager. Was reading comments about it before it was released and was almost gonna wait to install it, but needed to kill time instead of being productive at job.

I'm still debating wether to update ro wait a few months. Just got the M1 Air so it would be too bad to get lags and bugs so soon lol

Ventura is just as stable as Monterey on my MBP M1 Pro, and Mac Stage Manager is more stable than the iPad version. I've noticed a few minor quirks with it, but generally speaking everything is stable and solid.
