I also have shsh for ios 5.1.1 and 5.0.1. So far, 5.0.1 is the smoothest because 5.1.1 laggs when closing camera app. Also on iOS 6, it lags only if I switch the web pages in safari or if I activate the multitasking bar, the animations are a bit slow with hiccups, sometimes, and all these with restore. What do you think I should do, stay on 5.0.1 , go to 5.1.1 or to ios 6 ?

Have you tried running a restore and not using an iCloud backup or setting it up as a new phone?
I'm not seeing lag on my iPhone 4. You might also want to check BatteryDetective and see if there might be a process running 24/7.

"top" would be the better alternative in my opinion

I hate repeating myself, If I do a clean restore even without jailbraking, it laggs, when closing camera app, with multitasking or with web pages.

Puts processes with the most CPU usage at the top of the list.
