I am in the market now for a new iPad, with the primary use being handwritten annotations as part of doing research.

My last iPad was the ipad 4, and I had an Adonit capacitive stylus at that time to do my scribbling. I did not like having to constantly zoom into different parts of a document to write, and obviously capacitive styluses don’t really cut it.

Does the biggest iPad Pro negate the need for zooming in now?

Trust me, the difference between capacitive styluses and an Apple Pencil in handwritten notes is light years in comparison.

I use my AP with my 12.9" iPad Pro and providing you use standard line separation there should never be a need to zoom in.

I regularly hand-write on top of A4 size PDF pages with no zoom required. This is on my gen 2 device, the new Pro looks like it may even be better with the second gen pencil.
