Is it possible to remotely brick my iPad if it gets stolen?

    Is it possible to remotely brick my iPad if it gets stolen?
    If so, how much doe such service/software cost?

    The best you can do is remotely wipe it clean.

    There is nothing that will cause the thief to drop your ipad off the empire state building or to drop it into a bathtub of water.
    Brick=permanently non-functional

    Just passcode lock your device. MobileMe let's you remote wipe your iPad, but if it's passcode locked, they need to do a restore (which wipes your data) to use it.

    Just make sure to display some contact information on the lock screen so if someone like me finds it, you can be contacted so your device can be returned.
