Apple's been wiping iCloud Drive storage for a couple of times since they first announced it. Will they do it again even though iOS 8 is publicly out?
I didn't upgrade my OS X Yosemite to iCloud Drive but if it's safe, I'll do it alongside my iPhone.

If i am not mistaken, iCloud will be wiped again with the release of Yosemite.

It won't be fair for iOS "only" users

I wouldn't if you back up photos to icloud. It won't sync to your Mac

Why would they do that? That would be a stupid move from them.

I'd just wait until Yosemite comes out to use iCloud Drive

Apple stated in their release notes earlier, that they would be doing this with iCloud beta releases. It makes sense to me.

I didn't save the link. I would have to hunt for it like you.

Ok no worries. I was just wondering because I was under the impression that they would only be wiping the files whilst iOS was under beta. Now its been released and they are upgrading normal users to it, I don't see why Apple would be wiping iCloud drive. I could be wrong, but I think its unlikely.

Wait to upgrade your iCloud Drive. If you do it now you will lose access to it on OS X until Yosemite launches.
