Is it true that the iPad 3 will charge faster with the USB cable bundled with it?

I'm well aware that the iPad 3 charges slower than the iPad 2, but I've read that using the USB cable included with the iPad 3 results in a faster charge than any other Apple USB cable. Any truth to that?

If you charge the iPad upside down it charges faster.

I thought that charging it in water made it charge faster because of the extra conductivity.

as i far as i know, the included charging adapter will charge it faster, but the cable that you use has no bearing.

Using the USb Cable with the included AC adapter will charge faster than using the USB cable and any computer. But the adapter in the new iPad is the same model they shipped with the original iPad and iPad 2 (as is the USB cable), so this advice applies to earlier models as well.

While there is no difference between the ipad 2/3 cables, there are issues with trying to charge with various cable setups..

My knockoff ones I bought for a dollar can sync fine but seem to charge at the rate a PC would with the apple one. Can't charge it at all when its in use and takes forever when its off. Using the Apple ones with an extension cable also charges far slower for me.

I assume higher quality 3rd party cables charge fine, anyone had a good experience with a 6' foot one thats reasonably priced?

I have experienced the same problem with cheap 3rd party cables. I have found a couple that work so far.

One is the Monoprice 6' cable: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...d=1083101&p_id=8738&seq=1&format=1#largeimage and the other is the RND cable I got from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470939031&pf_rd_i=507846

Problem with the Monoprice cable is it is too thick and coud stress the connector on the iPad.

I think there IS a difference in cables. Some of the cheap knock off cables can be of lower quality and could effect charging. But I doubt that a cable that came from your iPhone would perform less with your iPad charger than the cable it came with.

I bought an extra long cable in amazon. It doesn't charges the iPad. When I try to use it I get the message that the iPad is not charging. It is not a problem with the iPhone, which charges fine.
