The faster wireless charging with magsafe wireless, is that alone a valid reason to go to the 12? The 11 is capped at 7.5watts I think and it takes about 2 and a half hours to wirelessly charging my 11 max.

What do you think?

That was the primary reason I upgraded and I regret it. I wish I had my 11 pro back. For me it was not noticeably faster, placing and removing from the charger became harder, and the charging wasn’t strong enough to use in my car with media and GPS so I had to go back to plugging in while driving. Just not worth it.

So you guys just plug it in? I’ll just hold onto my 11 for another year.

Absolutely no.
It's slow, expansive, not energy efficient, and it's at this stage a niche proprietary format.
I would consider it only if you really want it or see a specific use case in which magnets could be useful.

I tried it but its slowness made me instantly go back to the classic 20w usb-c wired charge

The belkin 3-1 MagSafe charger is 👌👌👌 wouldn't be buying a 12 now, iPhone 13 is just around the corner, rumoured to have even stronger magnets. 😁🧲📱

Yes. Haven´t even bought a magsafe charger for my 12. Sounds like a wise choice keeping it. The 11 (Max) is an excellent device!

Apple should have used that space where the magnetic coil is for a larger battery instead. I appreciate there are many people who like magsafe charging on the 12 series, but its a waste of space for me personally.

It's not worth going to the 12 at all right now if you have a working 11 pro max. Just wait for the 13 which will be announced and released in the next couple of months.

That’s what I usually amuse and it’s pretty slow takes about 3 and a half hours to fully charge.

I’ll stick to the cable but for the watch and regular non wireless charged AirPods I used this stand.

I really wanted the MagSafe due to the higher wattage charging and honestly the cooler designed all in one charging bases.

Higher wattage charging can create heat and batteries do not like heat. I do have an Apple magsafe charger and it does make the iPhone warm to the touch. I do not use it because of that.

I’d say not. But then I still charge from a 12W brick overnight.
It all depends. Some people with disabilities may find the MagSafe charging system easier to manage than other wireless charging options or the cable. There are no absolutes. Circumstances vary.

I love it because I don't have to worry about my cats knocking my phone off my bed-side shelf (there's no room for a table) because I used double sided tape to tape the magsafe puck down and the magnets hold the phone in place pretty darn good.

I also mounted a magsafe puck to my dashboard for when I wanna set my phone down or use GPS. I usually leave it unplugged in my car as magsafe tends to get hot in the car (direct sunlight, summer weather etc), but it comes in handy when I need to charge it (I just turn the AC on and point it at the phone hah)

This is the use case that has me wanting to buy an iPhone 13 this year. Being able to put a puck in my car and just slap the phone up on it sounds amazing.

The only downside is magsafe can't carry audio, so I'd have to use Bluetooth, which has crappier audio quality than a directly connected USB cable. :(

Yeah, I've been using bluetooth for audio in my car since 2014 and to me it sounds perceptually the same as plugging it in. I know it's obviously not the same technically, but I don't notice a difference. Maybe my speakers aren't good enough, I dunno.

It might be my car, but... with bluetooth in my car it doesn't sound as good, and has two second or so latency. So you hit "next track" and you don't hear it change for two seconds. It's maddening.
