I started a thread here because I've been having problems connecting to my network and after buying an Airport Extreme was still having issues and wasn't sure if it was my MBP. I have a 17" MBP that's only a few months old. About a month ago I started having issues where I would notice I've been kicked offline and my network connection is gone. I look under available networks and find mine and click on it. My MBP tries to connect but after a minute it gives up. I try again and another minute last nothing. Always on the third try it connects and stays connected for at least a few hours. Thinking my router may need replacing I was excited about buying a Airport Express and found a deal on a refurbished one, $60. But it was a real pain to get up and running. Which leads me to believe maybe it's faulty. It was hard to get setup, had to reset it presumably because it wasn't reset when the previous owner returned it. I was most excited about it because I wanted to use AirTunes. Once I finally got it up and running I tested it out and it worked but cut out after 30 seconds. I got it working again but it would cut out again. And then iTunes couldn't find it. I got it working again but it sounds very strange like only the guitar is playing and somehow the drum track and vocal track isn't!?!? I have no idea how that happens but when I pull the plug out of the AE a bit it works properly.... until it cuts out. There are so many variables at to what might be going wrong. I can't even narrow everything down because it's behavior is largely unpredictable. Basically I just want to know is my experience typical with this device? Or is it really plug and play like other Mac products? Do other people experience issues with AirTunes? Whenever I mess with the stereo connection on the AE it only messed up my router and I need to restart everything to get back online. So my AE is having internet issues as well. I simply can't figure out what may be wrong.
