Yes you'd need a third party adaptor available on eBay etc.

    Ok grumpy mom
So is it possible if u need to use adapters when I attach the band from my Dora, frozen, or hello kitty watch to the Apple Watch? I'm saying goodbye to my boring kids watches to a Apple Watch in April or next week.

You would need adapters for any conventional band to work on the Apple Watch. I'm afraid I can't make any recommendations regarding adapters because I don't own any. I own only Apple Sport bands at present.

Do you really have cartoon character watch bands that wide? I actually do have Hello Kitty and possibly a Frozen watch band around here somewhere. I am a mother, aunt, great-aunt and babysitter to many kids, so of course there are cartoon character watches somewhere in my possession. I can't say that I've seen any wide enough to look decent on an Apple Watch. The ones that might be are going to look really cheap and odd on an Apple Watch.

And Dora...she's a lovely lass and my kids loved her once upon a time but they run screaming from the room now if I sing her theme song. If I really want to terrorize them I get out the Dora doll and wave her around saying "Say backpack!" I save that for times when they pluck my last nerve and I feel like being Evil Embarrassing Mom.

So...are you sure about that Dora band? o_O

Taeylor, I'd suggest a third-party adapter with a spring bar (as oppose to a Classic band tube-style). There's a whole thread on why but essentially it will be the most secure for your watch without investing in a special screwdriver and expensive threadlocker adhesive (Loctite 435) so the tiny, tiny screws don't fall out on their own. If not done correctly people have had their classic style adapters fall apart and their watches separate from the band. The spring bar type is what traditional watches use on their lugs. Tried and true system. Many of us have been using this style for our 3rd party bands since early on. Bought mine off ebay from a seller named Freedomoclock. Hope you enjoy your watch! and Happy Birthday!
