I priced it out a while ago (including TekServe) - the prices were all around $150 for the labor... I decided to do it myself and I'm glad I did - it was SOOOO easy. (I even did my brother in law's the following week!

Just check out this site and follow the instructions: http://www.extremetech.com/slideshow/0,1206,a=205857,00.asp

Yeah why waste almost 200$ to get your hard drive replaced when you can do it yourself.

I agree with doing it yourself. I know a number of people who have used Tekserve for various things, and not many had anything good to say. They have a bad reputation from what I hear, and are overpriced.

there's a guy on craigslist who apparently does good work and charges much less - you might want to check him out.

Digital Society is cheaper. It's $120, and they finished mine in two hours.

It's always better to do it yourself, but if you don't want to, J&R (where I work) charges $75 for the installation.

Someone refer this guy to a place instead of constantly bugging him to do it himself. What if he doesnt have the tools? Not everyone has a fine philips and torx screwdriver.
