New to the forums and sorry if this post has already been made!

Switching to iOS from a samsung note 5. I am ready to really dive into the apple ecosystem (macbook pro owner) however seeing all the posts about the bad cellular connection, yellow screens, internal sounds, and seeing others deciding to returns theirs are kinda putting me off against sticking with my IP7.

So as the title suggests, those of you who have received your phones, is the IP7 worthy device to switch over to or would it just be better to stick it out another year for the next upgrade?

Haven't received the phone yet however, stuck in processing still with an october 5th ship date.

Welcome to MacRumors. There were people actually complaining about the added gig of RAM in the Pluses, if you can believe that. Lol
Every year:
Yellow screens
Dead pixels
Bad speakers
Slow response, slower than last years models,
Antenna problems
Dropping calls
Crappy cameras
Extra gb of RAM does nothing
You name it, mac rumors iPhone owners will complain about it.
Lol

No yellow screen for me
No internal or hissing sound

And even though I've Verizon, the service is no crappier then it was when I was on 6s (had major issues in New York's five boroughs & Bay Area SF).

I've also seen a lot of activation issues on Verizon ...I seem to have lucked out.

It's fantastic! I thought this was going to be an underwhelming iteration. Very wrong. The Plus is a powerhouse, iOS 10 is fantastic. I'm both and Android and Apple guy, so no innate bias pro or con for either platform.

I can't speak to whether you should switch as I have no idea how you use your phone but on its own iPhone 7 Plus is easily at the top of the smartphone pile this year.

It's a fantastic phone. Everything about it is great. Keep in mind that many happy people won't post, but dissatisfied people will. Misery loves company.

People just like to complain for the sake of complaining, makes them feel important.

Not to mention there aren't really checks and balances as to who can join and post, so the complainers could be samsung employees trying to shift some attention from their "hottest" new smartphone ;) *puts on tin foil hat*

Loving My iPhone 7. This is a great iPhone with many enhancements. The IP67X water resistance, Stereo Speakers, improved camera and increased battery are just a few of the upgrades. My iPhone 7 Plus is still back ordered. Looking forward to this too.

Yes don't buy it. I'd say wait for the model next year or go with the Note 7 as it is honestly the more superior phone at the moment.

Agree that complainers flock in to complain and the rest are to busy enjoying their new devices to be concerned much.
Thinking of trying the 7 myself, I like the idea of a smaller phone as I'm just burnt out on huge phones and don't find them very easy to pocket. Had a 6+ and a couple of android phablets. To much hassle to carry comfortably. I had read on Apples site that the 7 had improved cellular reception. This sounds good to me, then reading some have the opposite experience is kind of off putting. But as has been said those folks don't come in here and the complainers do so might not let those sway me. Enjoying the comments!

You've got to understand that forums like this are concentrated complaint buckets! Of the millions of iPhones sold, you will only find the minuscule minority of unhappy, yet very vocal, iPhone users here. Although a few have unfortunate, legitimate issues with bad manufacturing (happens with all tech products), the vast majority of complainers on this site have nothing but self-induced issues or unrealistic expectations.

It just seems odd to me that millions of Apple product users never have a single issue with any of their products yet you see the same usernames on sites like this complaining over and over about how it's Apple's fault every time they get a new Apple product and f- it up themselves.

Go ahead with your iPhone 7 switch and you will never look back to a non iOS device. Apple makes quality hardware and the most secure and reliable OSs on the planet.

My 6 Plus had pretty good reception until I loaded iOS 10. Now, where I used to get 3 or 4 dots, I get 1 or 2. Don't know if is a software issue or a local tower was moved or taken down. I'll know more when I get my 7.

This forum is mostly where people come to complain... it is a very bad example of real world use... go buy one, try it out for yourself, and if you don't like it then return it.

Same here. absolutely zero issues with my new Iphone 7 plus in RG. Very happy camper so far. I'm on AT&T, service at home as always been about 3 bars, and not more than that. Have not noticed any changes with the 7.

The internal hissing sound is evident in all models. To what degree might have to do with what you're running in the background.. It has to do with the placement of the internals so that won't vary from phone to phone...

Very happy with my jet black iphone 7. Screen is a bit inconsistent, but it's easier on the eyes than the 6S.

Love the home button, love the haptic engine and how it responds to small things like deleting an email, or other software movements, love the stereo speakers, voices are much clearer and louder on speaker phone now - check out siri's voice! Totally different....!

Above all, I love the look. This is the sexiest phone I've ever seen produced by any company. Just beautiful. It's like a sports car; where engineering meets art.

Those I've spoken to who have one have described it as, "not exciting." But it's an iPhone, it's a great product by proxy.

This happens every year. I remember pulling my hair out over that iPhone 5 compass issue back the the day. Eventually Apple came out with a software fix but leading up to that people were looking for that "perfect" device swapping 2 to even 5 devices with Apple. It happens each and every year and it all starts with these forums.
I understand that people pay good money for these phones. But people tend to jump the gun. Just yesterday I read that someone exchanged 3 iPhones over that hissgate situation and they still don't have a "quite" device. People are wasting their time in most situations.
