Do still pictures taken by the front camera and those taken by the back have the exact same quality?
Probably close in quality. But not the same rez.
So if I took a picture with the front cam, and another with the back, which picture would look better overall?
I say back.
But I dunno.
I think the specs page said front camera is "VGA" quality, which likely represents 640x480...that is the industry standard for "VGA" quality.
The back camera appears to be slightly higher resolution, but still in the sub-1megapixel range.
If my memory serves correct, the back camera makes use of a .7 megapixel camera, which is only going to be of a slightly higher quality compared to say, a VGA camera. Point is, you probably won't want to throw away your point/shoot camera any time soon.
Front camera: 640x480
Rear camera: 960x720 + backside illuminated sensor
I'm not sure the front facing camera even grabs stills.
It does - Engadget did it on their video.
Oh very nice, thanks for that - sorry for my ignorance!
