    Republican or Democrat - elected officials are there to represent the PEOPLE who elected them, not businesses. If McCrory is found to be connected to this - I hope he's dragged through the mud with no career opportunities in his future.

    Aw that's cute. You and I know that from a structural standpoint (aspirations aside) this hasn't been the case in decades....

    Of course not. But it's not always about life or death issues. Effectively having a hand in killing the people you represent is heinous.

    I agree fully, but we've seen that this supposed oppressive regulation that people wail from the rooftops over is virtually nonexistent. Remember the tank that blew up a few years ago? Wasn't inspected in decades (which is because regulation funding was cut beyond the bone), AND was found to be holding more of the chemical compound that it was licensed to. I can't remember what the end result was, but people died and the only punishment was a fine.
