I really hated the slipperiness of the iphone 7, Xs has a way better grip. I could imagine that the new metalglass is slippery again. How‘s the grip of the new pro phones?

It seems to be polarizing. Either you find it easier to grip (like myself), or you find it more slippery. I think it depends on how much oil a persons skin produces. I run rather oily, so I found the glossy glass slick to the touch and find the matte finish grippier. I’d guess that if you found the XS to have better grip than the 7, you’ll find the 11 Pro to be slippery.

I produce a good amount of oil and find it to be pretty gripy

I'm guessing the OP didn't have the Jet Black iPhone 7, which is the grippiest phone I've ever owned. I find the Pro considerably slipperier than that, although I can't compare against the other iPhone 7 finishes.

I think my Pro Max green is grippy enough. I’d say gripper than my 8 Plus was.

I had a few close calls or near drops. With my 8 Plus for the short week that I owned it. Then I returned my 8 Plus for a Pro Max.

I have owned my Pro Max since launch day. I am extremely happy with it.

I found the X and Xs to be second only to the piano black 7 in grip.

The 6/6s were the absolute worst. Those were the only phones I absolutely had to have a case, because they were so damn slippery.

I now have the 11 Pro, and it’s definitely more slippery, BUT the sides help quite a bit. I feel completely comfortable keeping my 11 Pro naked. Without the sides, I might have less confidence, but as is, it’s fine.

But definitely more slippery than the X/Xs.

Thanks for your replies! As I see different opinions, I will try it first in an apple store. I love to keep my phones naked, without a case.

My Pro Max is grippy for me. I used a case on my 6, 6s Plus, 7 Plus, X, and XS Max for grip. I never used a case on all previous iPhones and it feels GREAT to go back to being naked. Able to appreciate the design, especially the sea glass inspired rear of my Midnight Green Pro Max.

Got the 11 pro midnight green, and this one is much more grippy than my xs space grey was.

Apple fanboys will always defend Apple's newest design choices, no matter how bad they are.

The textured glass of the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max make them more slippery than the untextured glass of the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. No amount of fanboy denial will change the laws of physics.

For me matte textures like on the iPhone 11 is more slippery than the regular glass on the iPhone xs.

I find the 11 Pro to be more grippy, the frosted glass at the back and the sides seem to provide a lot more grip, in my personal experience. I fully expected this thing to be more slippery than my XS Max but I feel as if I could easily use it without a case if I wanted to.
