I have been experiencing some slow internet applications, strange app hang-ups and intermittent disruptions. I know that Macs do not have the same virus problems as Windows, but what about spy ware or slave-bots? Is there any software out there that can scan for this type of stuff? Any help most appreciated. Thanks, Michael

There aren't any viruses or spyware in the wild for the Mac...try repairing disk permissions in Disk Utility :)

These guys are right....mac users can sleep easy knowing that their expensive machinery is virus and spyware free.

BUT

Thats not to say virus scanners don't exist. If you want to double check...download clamXav. It is freeware and will do the job completely. Last time i checked my entire comp...the search took 90 minutes and searched a hundred thousand files and found 0 viruses.

so if you value your time...just don't worry about it

but all that those do is scan for windows viruses, if you somehow were that first person to pick up a mac virus in the wild it would not know it was a virus.
