Is there a way to check my "charge" left on my iphone battery?

At this point in time, I don't think there is a way to check this. However, when applications become available, someone might make have one to purchase.

I use to wonder about that as well, b/c with my luck it'll burn out the day after my AppleCare runs out!

If yours is jailbroken, then yes there is, I think it's called HWinfo, tells you in percentage how much battery is left.

Short of jailbreaking, there's no way...unless you look at the icon in the upper right or you look at the lock screen when the iPhone is connected to a power source.
