Is there an IP check for Sky Sports (day pass) bought via Apple TV?

On Sky's Now TV box you need to register local payment details, but now Sky is offering it's Sky Sports day passes via Apple TV that are billed via iTunes.

Is there still an IP check so running this from abroad would require a VPN, or will it work as long as the iTunes account is a UK one (regardless of current IP)?

not sure though 'its sky' use vpn if possible -sky will make every attempt to 'keep' their brodcasted material within the u.k

(ive been using skynow tv via macbook and apple t.v. since the now t.v. beta i'm in the u.k. though since had my fare share of day passes (for Liverpool games)

some fooy has periods of bufferring -most of it has been fine -non hd though

Now TV only runs on 720p which is startling considering the world has moved on to 1080 ages ago it seems.

I'm curious if Now TV would give a higher resolution when running on the Roku 3 box, or whether Now TV only runs at 720P regardless of what box/app you use...
