Is there any way to import photos directly from iPhone 5s directly to "Pictures"? By default, "iPhoto" opens up whenever I connect my iPhone 5s to my MacBook Pro. I like that I can pick and choose which photos to import, and which to delete, etc. But I don't like that it's a difficult process to simply bypass their stupid little "library" file (w/all of it's annoying subfolders..) and just have iPhoto import these photos directly as the files themselves to a directory of my choice? ("Pictures" menu-bar folder in this case)

    Thanks!

Follow the first set of instructions to use Image Capture. Unfortunately I'm not sure which versions of OS X and iOS these instructions were written for, so hopefully it still works.

I've set mine up to import into Dropbox when my phone is plugged in. They are imported to Dropbox/camera uploads which sits on my desktop and the pictures can then be easily moved to where i want.
