I currently have t-mobile and would like to pre-order a Verizon phone. Is it true I need to be a Verizon subscriber in order to get one? I’d be purchasing full price.

YOu will get this message before you add it to cart.

If rumor and speculation is correct, I don't think it would be necessary as I don't think Apple will use qualcomm this time around and we'll find out after tomorrow events.

Yep this as well. But I question if this applies to purchasing it outright at the Apple Store? I can understand if it's from a carrier store or Best Buy/Target/Walmart/Costco, etc.

I believe it will, basically what happens is that the phones will be shipped locked and if you pay in full then they will unlock it in 60 days automatically. This is something new Verizon is doing because of the phones being stolen when they are being shipped.

I guess that's one way to deter from Scalpers.

The last time I wanted to buy the Qualcomm version the were pretty insistent on linking to Verizon account. They seem more strict first few weeks too. Like others have said, think they are just using intel modems
