Is there anyway to turn of the camera sound independently?

I find the faux camera sound most annoying, but the only way to shut it off is to flip the silent button on the iPhone's side. That also turns off the ringer. I've searched the settings and can't find anything that turns off just the system sounds or the camera sound. Am I looking over something? Please tell me there is a way to mute the camera sound w/o shutting off the ringer too. This is crazy.

You could replace the sound file with a non-sound. Or probably just delete it. That is if you feel like getting inside the phone.
