Is there really an thicker glass on the new 12.9" iPad Pro 2021? Causing the gap, as mentioned in this review, and why?

Interesting, guessing it's related to the mini led tech. Will find out tomorrow and check back.
 
yup, seen a few places report it. it's thicker and the edges aren't as flat. it's apparently not too good for writing/drawing.
 
yeah it's a bit like "not completely laminated", which is one of the prices to pay for mini led
 
I can't unsee the shadow under the screen. The screen gap is killing me :(

Because it’s laminated too, the only explanation for the gap, can be a thicker glass.
