I am interested in getting an apple tv box, and I am wanting to see what apps are available before I purchase one. Is there a place where I can go look at whats available on the system before I purchase one?

I'm in Canada and use my iPad to see which apps are available for CA accounts. I also have a USA Apple ID and run CA and USA apps side-by-side on my ATV.

I recommend searching for the apps you want before making a purchase.

How can you tell what apps are on atv unit? Are they searchable on the ipad?

Yes, I can see compatibility in the iPad app store.

The tvOS App Store, and specifically app discovery is horrible on tvOS, and is probably the worse thing about the Apple TV.

That's mainly what I am looking for. I want to know if the apps I use on my firestick and roku are available on the Atv. TSN, river tv, Sportsnet etc. Mainly network stuff.

There really isn't a proper way to view the TVOS APP store, the best way is to go to the network stuff websites and see if they advertise Apple TV APPS for their streaming services.
