Anything going on from March 16-25 ish timeframe, preferably closer to the weekend of the 25th? I mean, anything in the US, Canada, Mexico. Need an idea for Spring break that doesn't involve just going to a beach or something.

    Ideas?

Concerts? I'm sure somebody is playing somewhere during that week.

Also, my birthday. But I highly doubt you're interested.

Also, are you the next Waloshin?

I live in Ohio. Preferably something like Comicon. Or some sort of festival, or some other event. I like concerts but I don't think there is anything going on with any bands I like.

You could do some charity work with the homeless. What city would you prefer and I'll get you info to get started. :)

    Why is that obvious?

Are you not grateful for all the material possessions in your life?

Spring break. That's why it's obvious.

And the rest of your post is just non sequitur

Fair enough. My sister used to fill in at homeless places and dog shelters (she loves animals).

I used to do some stints in youth justice. Good for the CV when you're at that age. I would party nearly every weekend anyway, so breaks weren't seen as a big deal.

Yeah I don't have a problem with it, but I just have no interest in spending my break at a homeless shelter.

I'm trying to avoid a party, so that's why I'm generally trying to avoid beaches. I've been to DC and NYC for road trips and those were a lot of fun. I'd like to attend a festival or something.

Listen, it's spring break a time have some fun let his hair down and enjoy the time off from school, which as I remember can be a pressure cooker depending on what school and degree.

Why in the name of God would you recommend what you did? It's not a question of being grateful or ungrateful. He'll have plenty of time in his life to give back somehow.

OP go have some fun and enjoy the time off :D

I don't know what waloshin is.

I haven't decided yet. It's pretty close though.

...And yet another way of looking at it is that it's never too early to start a mindset and good habits. There are plenty of high school and college ministries and youth groups that do missionary work out of the country, much less simply serve in a soup line.

I don't think the recommendation was all that out of line, given the way the OP's sig could be interpreted and his non-party requirement.

Pick-up some Humanity. Hey, how much will it hurt? Just a pinch.

And it looks good on your résumé.

There's just nothing to be gained form it. It does't make me happy to do it, so why would I?

a case of do as i say not as i do?

i have no idea what type of thing you're looking for OP but since you didn't give much of an idea of what you were looking for i don't think the volunteer suggestion was out of line.

Done it. I don't get anything out of it, I don't have time to do it if I wanted to, ergo no reason for me to do it.

OK. If you could go anywhere you wanted for a weekend here in the US, Canada, or Mexico that was extremely expensive, where would you go? What would you go see?

as for my sig, it's a reflection of those who build things and create things with their mind. It has no basis on helping other people or being altruistic, which is a negative thing.
