Is this cartoon character peculiar or is it just me?

When I first saw this image while I was searching for a 'hanumanji' image on google, I at first assumed it was some sort of a parody porno version, but I discovered that it is in fact a mainstream indian cartoon in the style of Disney.

Nevertheless, I am wondering if my mind is so warped that what it appears to be to me is in fact utterly not apparent to anyone else.

    You decide.

What? The loin cloth appears to be tied up to appear as a large penis? that's what I see but look, I'm an old lady so what would I know? :D

I believe there is a medical term for this.

What do you see here? If it is anything else but a banana and two oranges, i suggest you seek help from our resident shrink, Shrink.

Guys seriously this is or could be classed as a religious figure to some. Show a little respect.

    !!!!!

It's a cartoon figure. I'm not sure its possible to be both a religious figure and the subject of a cartoon series at the same time.

Now OP, does this look like just a cloud to you?

I disagree. Animating to aid in gaining children's interest is part of the modern world

That character doesn't look offensive to me. I don't see the loincloth knot as a penis, and if people commonly tie them in that manner in that part of the world, no one would think it looks odd.

True. South Park has Jesus animated.
    Satan too.

Hmmm. On the one hand, the cartoon comes from a culture with significant (public) taboos about obvious (as opposed to more covert) portrayals of some elements of the human body and of some human actions; as in Hollywood in the 30s, under the Hays code, onscreen kissing is deeply disapproved of.

However, on the other, it is worth bearing in mind that this is a rich, literate and ancient polytheistic culture, the very same culture which bequeathed the classic work of art known as the Kama Sutra to the world......

    If you really want to be offended, try this;

On a daily basis in India you can personally see literally dozens or even hundreds of children, forced to survive like this collecting plastics and paper when they should be at school, thanks to the Hindu caste system.

I think you're all missing the obvious:

It's an Indian rip-off of Big Boy.
